Professions

Welcome, here we will describe all the available professions in the game on the first release on December 10th.

Note: Professions preceded by a * are elite professions and can't be chosen when you first start the game.

Star Wars Galaxies Professions Description
Professions
Star Wars Galaxies will include 25 unique professions. Stay tuned in the months to come as we reveal them. Note that certain professions are considered "Elite" and will not be available to starting characters. We will also explain how each profession will be used in Rori Enterprises

Architect
This profession combines skills from the architecture and general crafting disciplines. A player in this profession can build structures including player venues, installations, and municipal structures. This profession is one of the most important in the Second Foundation as these are the people who will put together the most complex buildings in Terminus. This profession will have a contract with the High Council for the construction of the buildings in Terminus.

Artisan
This profession includes skills from the basic crafting and surveying disciplines. A player in this profession is well versed in using schematics to build things.

Armorsmith
This profession combines skills from the armor design and general crafting disciplines. A player in this profession can create armor for players and structures. This profession will be used to make armor for the defensive structure and the other vulnerable buildings in Terminus. These people will also have a contract with the High Council to supply our Militia with armor for a reduced retail-price.

Banker
The Banker will basically be a Business Owner who will be the city's sole bank owner. TheTerminus Bank (as it will be called) will be equipped with a "Armored Truck" for the exchange of smaller coins into larger ones at Rori's main city. The Banker will have workers of his own and will work under a contract with the High Council. The Banker will have banking fees given to him exclusively but they will not surpass 1.5% of the money exchanged.

*Bounty Hunter
This elite profession combines skills from the investigation, slicing and combat disciplines. A player in this advanced profession can hunt down other players with bounties and is an accomplished combatant. This profession will be integrated in the Secret Services (SS) Sub-Division and will be used to find out information on other cities and do some of the High Council's dirty work.

Brawler
This profession includes skills from the unarmed and melee combat disciplines. A player in this profession can be extremely dangerous in close combat.

Bus Drivers
If implemented into Rori Enterprises, this profession will be made up of Drivers of "Bus-Like" Speeders who will take you from one end of the city to the other or charter from our city to Titus City, the Capital of the URRS. The use of these "Buses" will deduct a reasonable fee from your account which will be given directly to the City Services Fund in a weekly tax. This tax will be small and only used to pay the Drivers and/or buy more "Buses".

Carabineer
This profession includes skills from the carbine accuracy and speed disciplines. A player in this profession is extremely accomplished in the use of ranged carbine weapons.

Chef
This profession combines skills from the cooking and general crafting disciplines. A player in this profession can create all kinds of foods. Foods are not necessary but are quite useful for temporarily improving a player's attributes. This profession will supply our population and Militia with Attribute-Boosting food in order to have our soldiers and population in tip-top shape. They too will have a contract signed with the High Council.

Combat Medic
This profession combines skills from the medical and combat disciplines. A player in this profession can both hold their own in a fight as well as heal those who are injured in the field. A member of the Militia as well, this profession will help our soldiers survive during a battle.

Commando
This profession combines skills from both the ranged and melee combat disciplines. A player in this profession is dangerous both at range and up close. This profession will be the main element of our Militia. The Commando is present in the most Star's End Sub-Divisions.

Creature Handler
This profession combines skills from both the combat and creature handling disciplines. A player in this profession can tame and train animals. A tamed animal can be sold to other players who have sufficient skill to control the creature. A member of the Second Foundation, these people will be in charge of the Terminus Zoo as well as retreiving more animals for our own protection and for the Terminus Zoo.

Dancer
This profession includes skills from the dance ability and knowledge disciplines. A player in this profession can heal mind wounds of other players with this talent.

Doctor
This profession combines skills from the medical and chemical design disciplines. A player in this profession can cure all kinds of damage including shock wounds. Another member of the Second Foundation and the Health Ward Sub-Division, this profession will take care of severe cases such as heavy Wound Damage and heavy Shock Wounds.

Droid Engineer
This profession combines skills from the droid design and general crafting disciplines. A player in this profession can design droid components, instruments and droids themselves. This profession will supply the army with Combat Droids and Terminus with service and other types of Droids. This profession will have a contract with the High Council for the construction Combat Droids.

Entertainer
This profession includes skills from the dancing and musicianship disciplines. A player in this profession can play musical instruments and perform dance routines for the benefit of others. These people will make sure that during a battle, that our soldiers and citizens heal faster and more efficiently.

*Farmer
This elite profession combines skills from the farming and facility management disciplines. A player in this profession can grow plants and animals for foods and medicines. This profession will supply the Chefs with raw materials for their special foods and will also be able to sell their products to other Allied PA's.

Fencer
This profession includes skills from the sword speed and accuracy disciplines. A player in this profession can be quite formidable in a duel.

Image Designer
The Image Designer profession combines skills from the body customization and tailoring disciplines. A player in this profession can modify the way other players look as well as create clothing. These people will supply the Militia with a uniform and sell clothes to the citizens. This profession will have a contract with the High Council for a Militia Uniform.

Industrialist
This profession includes skills from the factory maintenance and management disciplines. A player in this profession can affect the speed at which factories turn out items.

*Jedi
Jedi is a special case profession that requires considerable prerequisites (such as being Force sensitive). A player in this profession has access to considerable Force wielding skills, but they would be wise to keep that information to themselves as the Galactic Empire aggressively hunts the Jedi. An important part of the Elite Forces, will be used for emergencies only or extremely delicate missions. Jedi identity will be known to the High Council only who will be sworn to secrecy.

Marksman
This profession combines skills from the ranged combat disciplines. A player in this profession is extremely dangerous in ranged combat. An important part of the Militia as well, these soldiers will take out the key elements of an opposing army during a battle.

*Merchant
This elite profession combines skills from the merchant, facility management, and general crafting disciplines. A player in this profession can operate vendors and run player-venues. This profession will trade our goods with other PA's and import other goods from other PA's. May have a contract with the High Council for import/export.

*Miner
This elite profession combines skills from the mining and facility management disciplines. A player in this profession can extract valuable resources from the environment. A key element to Terminus' survival, this profession will mine rare minerals from the ground and sell them in Terminus.

Musician
This profession includes skills from the musical ability and knowledge disciplines. A player in this profession can heal mind wounds of other players by performing different songs.

Pikeman
This profession includes skills from the polearm accuracy and technique disciplines. A player in this profession is accomplished fighter with blunt weapons.

Pistoleer
This profession includes skills from the pistol speed and accuracy disciplines. A player in this profession can be extremely deadly with handguns.

Ranger
This profession combines skills from the creature handling, outdoorsmanship, and combat disciplines. A player in this profession can “solo” as well as find creatures for the food or taming. This profession will be part of the secret services thanks to his ability to fight alone.

Rifleman
This profession includes skills from the rifle accuracy and speed disciplines. A player in this profession is extremely dangerous at a long distance.

Scout
This profession combines skills from the linguistics, outdoorsmanship, and combat disciplines. A player in this profession can “solo” as well as translate for group members. The average citizen of Terminus, the explorer will help out with diplomatic affairs and will run the majority of the businesses in the city.

Smuggler
This profession combines skills from the smuggling and ranged combat disciplines. A player in this profession can move “illicit” materials past “faction police” with greater ease and are useful to players involved in commerce. This profession will import illegal/illicit materials into Terminus supllying the Crafters with the materials they may require.

Squad Leader
This profession combines skills from the leadership and combat disciplines. A player in this profession provides combat and movement bonuses to anyone that is grouped with them. The leader of a squadron each in the Militia.

Swordsman
This profession includes skills from the heavy sword speed and accuracy disciplines. A player in this profession excels at the art of cleaving.

Tailor
This profession includes skills from the patterns and tailor techniques disciplines. A player in this profession can outfit other characters in style.

Teras Kasi Artist
This profession combines skills from the melee combat and melee tactics disciplines. A player in this profession is extremely dangerous in melee combat. Teras Kasi, or “steel hands”, is a Bunduki martial arts discipline focusing on weaponless combat. This profession is a part of the Elite Forces Sub-Division and will be used in defensive batlles and in special missions.

Weaponsmith
This profession combines skills from the ranged and melee weapons design and general crafting disciplines. A player in this profession can design ranged weapons and their components. This profession will supply Star's End with the proper equipment in order to defend Terminus. This profession will have a contract with the High Council.
